“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” Proverbs 9:10
Have you ever feared the Lord? Truly felt a deep sense of fear and awe at who He is. The first time I remember feeling anything like that I had been reading the story of Moses and while I knew he parted the Red Sea, before that point I had never known that the Pharaoh’s army had followed them.
“The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, not one of them remained.” Exodus 14:28
It really just struck me in that moment who God was and I was genuinely fearful of Him. Now, I think that’s something we all need to experience. Not something we should cling to, but definitely experience. Sometimes we replace God with so many things, but when we see God as God, remembering that we are Not suddenly gets easier.
Maybe today you’re waiting on God to show up in a big way. You’re crying out for the sea to part and you’ve got an army coming up behind you. Wherever you are, I hope you take some time to step back and remember who God is and let yourself feel the power behind that truth. Thanks for reading, feel free to share any thoughts.
