Entropy: a process of degradation or running down or a trend to disorder
“and the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:17
Today I was having a conversation about how maintaining a home is like living in entropy; the house starts out new and pristine, but with every day the house has a new mess and ages a bit so before you know it pipes are bursting, the roof is leaking, and things all over just seem to be falling apart. It really speaks to us as individuals as well. When we accept Christ we’re made new creations but eventually all new things fade. We need to be watchful of the small things every day in order to be ready for the big things like a burst pipe or a leaky roof.
Where are you today? Are you walking around with a mess you need to deal with or are you kept awake at night by a burst pipe? Whatever it is, I pray you set aside some time today to seek Christ on the matter. There’s a song by Nicol Sponberg, “Resurrection” that really touches on this; just being at the end of your rope and needing Christ to make you new again. You should all check it out.
“therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
