“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Tonight, when I got home from work, I found my daughter asleep on the couch with her feet hanging off, the cat curled against her side and her arms spread out with a book at each hand. My wife, who is building up a business in photography, who has done photography for many years now, who loves taking “real life” pictures, and who has a professional camera we can’t actually afford (thank you supportive parents and Christmas blessings) responded to my question, “Did you get a picture of her?” with, “No, my phone was dead.”
I took it upon myself to remind her of this camera and of course using it had never even crossed her mind. At first it was just silly, then it got funny, and now it actually makes sense. When we accept Christ we’re given the one thing the devil can’t twist or take from us and yet, when he attacks everything else we own, sometimes we forget that Christ is standing right there beside us waiting for us to tap Him in.
Today when the money is running low or the car is making noises or nothing in your life is fitting into your plan, stop trying to fix “things” with better or more “things”. Don’t quit because your “phone is dead,” but instead go grab your best asset and get the best you can out of your day.
It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos, but never ever forget God and His promise to stay right there with you.
Just a heads up, sometime in the near future I hope to have worked out how to use solomonbound.com and will be switching over. I hope you all come with me when it happens, but until then, thanks for reading,
